Helpful, though however not very informative well-nigh how and why the market exists. It sounds similar warranty is the just meaning factor, merely that doesn't actually seem to cover the deviation in prices, if you compare third party warranty options. In the case of Canon, are these lots that are sold to foreign distributors for significantly less than they are selling to USA distrubutors.... and then resold past the foreign distributors to USA retailers?

Re: Where practice Greyness market cameras come from?

Why, the gray market of grade!

In all seriousness, there is no concrete difference betwixt greyness market cameras/lenses. It really is purely items that were non destined to be sold in the country they are being sold in, and thus are do non have a warranty in that country.

Re: Where do GRAY market cameras come up from?

In that location is no difference in the quality and information technology merely means that information technology is not sold through Catechism in your country. In Commonwealth of australia cameras and lenses announced to exist sourced in Hong Kong or Singapore, thus bypassing Canon's Australian operations.

The main downside may exist the delay in having to render it for warranty to the country it was sourced in.

I don't recall its that elementary. I think its more to practice with 'middle men' controlling the market. I've bought my entire kit off the grey market. People question the warranties and I can merely tell you this. I've never had whatever bug with my Catechism gear inside or outside the warranty menstruation! Only having said that I am very confident that if a problem does arise it'll be taken care of by the seller. Some of the greyness sellers are huge, they don't go that big by offering shoddy backup service or by ripping their customers off. I'grand interested in the claim that Canon no longer honors International warranties. I'k no lawyer but I incertitude that would hold up in a court of law, anywhere! There is a huge floating population on this planet so what are they proverb, if yous migrate from one area to some other we won't accolade our International warranty? Really? Isn't that why its called International?

Re: Where do GRAY market cameras come up from?

These rules depend on which state y'all live in and which brand you buy.

For case, Nikon is very country specific. Gear purchased in the The states will non be covered under warranty in Canada... PERIOD. Canon (thank goodness), is a lot more reasonable with these rules. I had a Canon technician tell me that there is no such thing equally "gray market" in Canada and that it'south an American concept.

Again, it's all very country and make specific.

I understand the reseller imports the products directly, bypassing Canon U.s. and the uplift they charge.

Thanks,
